Basic Info

The ceremony will be in the afternoon on Saturday, September 6th.
It will be followed by dinner and dancing.
This will be a casual, back yard, alcohol-free event.

Because of Rachel's work, we cannot put directions to our house or our phone number on this site. Please remember your directions from the invitation or look Sharón up in the phone book and give us a call.

Places to Stay

For some reason, the motel above seems to be closed for remodeling and wouldn't let us book a block of rooms. Other than that, the most convenient and affordable option may be B&Bs in Greenfield (list below) that are comparable in price to the Red Roof Inn in Deerfield and much nicer.

Hotels:
Hampton Inn & Suites - in Greenfield - group rate of $159 on 15 rooms set aside until August 6th
Red Roof Inn in South Deerfield - more affordable but in South Deerfield - group rate of $118 on 15 rooms set aside until July 6th - use code B289000420
The Greenfield Inn - more affordable Greenfield option with an unfortunate and strong stale cigarette and lysol smell

B&Bs:
West Winds Inn - Sharón's mom liked
The House on the Hill - friends recommended
The Brandt House
Poetry Ridge Bed and Breakfast
or google B&Bs in Shelburne Falls and Northfield

Camping:
Mohawk Trail State Forest
D.A.R. State Forest

Cameras

Please bring them!! Please use them!!
We have no official photographer though we do have some primary photographer guests. If the pictures you take are digital and you feel inspired, we'd love it if you would download the pictures on our computer or email them to Sharón (sfriedner@hampshire.edu).

Local Towns

Greenfield - the best town of all (mapquest)
Shelburne Falls - pretty town with a bridge of flowers, glacial potholes, good food - (mapquest)
Deerfield - known for several touristy things like Historic Deerfield, the gigantic (very smelly) Yankee Candle store and a (depressing) butterfly zoo
Northampton - nice town with fun shops and some great food (mapquest)
Brattleboro, VT - fun funky town (mapquest)

Greenfield Food

Saturday in Greenfield

The Greenfield Farmer's Market happens from about 9am to about noon on Saturday morning at Main & Federal Streets. It has a combination of produce, plants and local crafts.

The Franklin County Fair is happening from Thursday through Sunday in Greenfield - fried dough, kids craft fairs, cute bunnies in cages and rides. There will be a free shuttle running every half hour from the Farmer's Market to the fairgrounds.

Nice Hikes

Poet's Seat in Greenfield, but the nicer part starts where Peabody Lane and Parkway Street meet
High Ledges in Shelburne

"Nearby" Airports

Bradley International - 57 miles away in Connecticut
Logan International - 100 miles away in Boston

Attire

Please wear anything from shorts to ball gowns - whatever makes you feel great.
If you wear your ball gown, remember shoes for a garden event.
Our lovely back yard is treacherous for people in heels.
